filigree creations

I want these Filigree Creations lampshades in my home. So bright, fun and pretty!

There’s also a DIY tutorial I found on The Sassy Bride if you just rather make a similar non-lampshade one yourself. You know, for party decorations and stuff. The white ones in that tutorial are great for weddings or bridal showers!

shop on felt & wire

“April showers bring forth May flowers.”

I hope you had another great April weekend. The weather in Seattle was surprisingly decent {warm & somewhat sunny} so I can’t complain. I cannot wait for May to come, though.

By the way, you can now find a collection of my paper goods on Felt & Wire!

scallion & ginger noodles

Happy Friday, everyone.

If you don’t know already…I’m not much of a cook. So I ALWAYS shy away from complicated recipes/dishes with a lot of ingredients. Maybe once I move back in with my mom, she can teach me her amazing cooking skills.

If you’re looking for something to make this weekend, try this really simple recipe in 5 easy steps:

Scallion & Ginger Noodles

15 oz dried yellow noodles (cooked from package instructions)
2 tbsp ginger, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1 bunch scallions, thinly sliced
3 tbsp soy sauce
½ tsp sea salt
6–8 tbsp peanut oil

1. Heat the oil in a large pan or wok until smoking and remove from the heat.
2. Add in the ginger, garlic and scallions.
3. Give the mixture a quick stir and toss in the noodles.
4. Season the noodles with soy sauce and sea salt.
5. Serve warm (with your choice of toppings–in this case, a sunny-side up egg).*

*Serves 4

untitled

Wrote something up for today’s post, but decided to scratch it.
I am wary of the future, even my next day. Suddenly seems pointless as I carry on with life.

Now, I question everything.

etsy favorites

Sometimes I don’t want or need colors to brighten my day. Honestly, a bit of white, black or other shades in between looks just as pretty and refreshing! I think my closet also displays more whites and blacks than any other color.

And speaking of closets, mine has been looking so drabby and uninspiring lately because I haven’t added anything new to the collection. I really really want a big {summer} shopping spree right now.

arturo rios

This famous young hat/headpiece designer Arturo Rios has his high-fashion coutour/avant garde hats worn by celebrities, and they have also been featured in many fashion magazines.

→ Visit his shop on Etsy here.

I usually like simple and subtle things, but when it comes to these avant garde hats, I’m thinking…the crazier, the better! I don’t know where I would have the chance to adorn one of these hats, though.

Check out his over-the-top collection too, where you’ll see presents and ice cream cones on your head. Okay, those might be TOO crazy for me. But…I wouldn’t mind wearing them to a costume party!
